Key topics: optical technology – photonics – quantum optics – optical microscopy – optical methods for neuroscience
The program Focus on optical Neuro Imaging and Photonics (FNIP) is an inter-disciplinary program to bring together scientists who share a common interest in advancing and using optical technologies and fluorescence imaging assays for studying the neuronal functions or, more in general, to study physical phenomena at the micro-nano scale through nondestructive methods.
The program aims to give rise to a multidisciplinary community open to discuss and study: (i) challenges and solutions in optical microscopy/photonics/quantum optics (T1); (ii) open biological questions currently investigated with optical tools (T2); (iii) methods (analysis or simulations) developed either for photonics/optics or for image analysis in neuroscience (T3).
To meet this goal FNIP program proposes an on-line seminar series where to listen to world-renowned experts from both within and outside University of Padova where younger researchers can meet to discuss, share tools and share aims.
This is a bottom-up initiative of early-career-stage researchers from the Department of Physics, Department of Biomedical Sciences and Department of Biology of the University of Padova.
